2 US tourists injured as van overturns on e-way

GRRATER NOIDA: Two , including a 15-year-old girl, returning to Delhi after visiting the Taj Mahal were injured when a van overturned on the on Wednesday evening after one of its tyres burst. The injured tourists were rushed to Kailash Hospital in and were discharged after first-aid.
The two have been identified as Micheal (48) and his daughter Linaya (15), who are on a trip to India with their family. The four-member family from the US had hired the van from Delhi on Wednesday to visit Agra.

Police said the occurred around 3.30pm when the front left tyre of the van burst and the vehicle overturned near Rabupura area.

?We received information about the accident around 3.45pm. A PCR was sent to the spot. By then, a team of paramedics from the expressway management had arrived with an ambulance and had taken the two injured persons to Kailash Hospital,? said Sunil Kumar Singh, the station house officer of Rabupura police station.

A spokesperson for Kailash hospital said the two foreign nationals were brought to the emergency wing around 4pm and were discharged on a request by the family late at night. ?They had chest and head injuries. They were taken to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital and were discharged around 1am when the family requested for it. They wanted to go to a hospital in Delhi,? the spokesperson said. No case was registered in the accident as no complaint was lodged against anyone.

In another incident, a school van carrying six children was hit by an unidentified car in Dankaur. The driver of the van suffered minor injuries but the children escaped without a scratch.
